Reflexology

A NEW TREATMENT COMING SOON

I am currently studying a 9 month course in Reflexology.

During this period I need to complete 100 case studies, 2 exams, 3 written assessments and 3 practical's, so I can safely say that I will be trained extremely well!

While I am practicing I am offering a 45 minute treatment for £10 for the whole of AUGUST and SEPTEMBER. If you are interested please contact Rachel on 07415 873827.

A little update:

I have passed both my theory exams, I have completed 2 of my assignments and I have completed 92 out of my 100 case studies, so I am getting there.

Do you know what Reflexology is?

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a massage that is most commonly applied to the feet and less commonly known the hands, which has a beneficial effect on your health. The foot is known to be a mirror image of the body. It is seen as a map for all the glands in the body called the reflex points. A Reflexologist can stimulate the reflex points to make parts of the body respond. Energy should flow freely to maintain a balanced health. Illness occurs if the energy is obstructed. Reflexology provides a mental, emotional and physical effect.

Reflexology works with the principles that there are reflexes in the feet and hands relative to all organs, functions and parts of the human body.

When pressure is applied to each area of the foot the reflex points send messages to the corresponding part of the body. For example, by making the lungs work more efficiently it allows more oxygen through the heart and into the blood stream. The increased oxygen in the blood will refresh the organs encouraging them to work better and therefore improving the flow of toxins and waste from our bodies and think we all now the benefits of that!

It is less intrusive than other therapies as its only your feet and lower legs that are exposed.

How does reflexology work?

Reflexology works the reflexes to stimulate the organs to help revitalise them.

Reflexology is sometimes referred to as The plumbing system i.e. the ‘U’ bend which traps all the debris from the toilet or the sink. As the feet are the furthest point away from the heart reflexology breaks up and moves these deposits thus improving blood and lymph circulation.

It is said that it alleviates and helps prevent illnesses. Reflexology also stimulates the release of endorphins which are the body’s natural opiates or painkillers, with actions similar to that of morphine.

The feet contain more nerve endings than any other part of the body so no matter what the outcome is, reflexology provides deep relaxation while helping to promote the circulation in your feet and legs, and in turn your whole body.
